I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with Joey Madia for several years now. In addition to being a great guy and a superlative playwright, he’s also a fine novelist (among other things). I did the score for the book trailer of his first novel, Jester Knight – a multi-layered fantasy with dragons and knights and heroic journeys – and now I’m pleased to say that I’ve scored the trailer for his most recent novel, Minor Confessions Of An Angel Falling Upward.
This one is a much darker exploration of…well, most everything relating to arts & spirituality (among other things). It’s a horror tale with a heavily philosophical bent, a labyrinth of questions & quotes snatching inspiration from the great artists of the past and near-present. It puts me in mind of H.P. Lovecraft and Georges Bataille, neither of whom I’ve read extensively, just enough to feel a certain kinship of intent. Here’s the trailer. Check out the book…if you dare, mwa ha ha!
